Research Interests: Molecular mechanisms of cortical development, the role of metabolism in cell fate
Olivia Fong is currently a lab technician, after working in the Bhaduri Lab as an undergraduate student. In the lab, her work builds upon Jose Soto and Jessenya Mil's metabolic atlas by investigating the role of candidate genes that are also associated with developmental disorders. Specifically, her work makes use of perturb-sequencing systems introduced into cortical organoids and single cell RNA-sequencing to analyze marker genes. She hopes to further pursue her love of research in a PhD program. Outside of the lab, Olivia enjoys traveling, drawing, cooking, and collecting trinkets.
