Research Interests: Genetic mechanisms of human cortical development
Marty Yang earned a B.S. in Neuroscience (summa cum laude) from Duke University in 2015. He completed his doctoral studies in the laboratory of Dr. Michael Greenberg at Harvard Medical School in 2022, where he focused on enhancer regulation of stimulus-dependent transcription. He was a postdoctoral fellow with Dr. Vijay Ramani at the University of California, San Francisco / Gladstone Institute of Data Science and Biotechnology, where he developed long-read sequencing technologies to examine chromatin structure in vivo at single-molecule resolution. In the Bhaduri Lab, Marty is interested in understanding the regulatory logic for synapse-to-chromatin signaling during human cortical development, as well as interrogating how inter-individual non-coding genetic variation modulates neural cell type specification and maturation. In his free time, he enjoys hiking with his partner and goldendoodle, watching baseball, and reading non-fiction.
