The Bhaduri Lab

An immunostained image of a cortical organoid derived from human stem cells.

The Bhaduri Lab studies how the human brain is created, with billions of cells spanning hundreds or thousands of cell types. We also explore how the cell building blocks of development can reappear later in life in brain cancers such as glioblastoma.

We opened in January 2021. We have recently published papers detailing the cell types that exist in the developing human brain. These "atlases" are valuable guideposts for anchoring our normal development studies and are a valuable comparative tool in improving our understanding of glioblastoma.
