Research Interests: Spatiotemporal regulation of cortical arealization in the human fetal brain

Pranav Suraparaju is a first-year undergraduate at UCLA pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience with minors in Entrepreneurship and Disability Studies. In the Bhaduri Lab, he investigates transcriptional regulators of areal identity in the human fetal neocortex, leveraging single-cell RNA sequencing to study how transcription factors shape cortical patterning across gestational timepoints. With a long-term goal of earning his MD and specializing in neurosurgery, Pranav is driven by a passion for translating fundamental neuroscience into clinical impact. Outside the lab, he can be found trying new restaurants around LA, hiking, running, or on the basketball court.
